Analysis of clinical application of Chinese patent medicine for children in Sichuan Maternal and Child Health Hospital

Abstract
Objective:To analyze the characteristics and trends of Chinese patent medicine for children in Sichuan Maternal and Child Health Hospital,and to provide the basis for clinical rational drug use.Methods:A retrospective evaluation method was used to summarize and analyze the sales amount,variety,dosage form,dosage and prescription review of Chinese patent medicine for children in Sichuan Maternal and Child Health Hospital in 2021.Results:There were 53 kinds of Chinese patent medicines for children,and the most widely used were heat-clearing and detoxifying agents,cough-relieving and phlegm-resolving agents,relieving agents and disinfectants.In terms of dosage forms,granules,oral liquid and mixture/syrup were more suitable for children.There were 38 age-specific doses for children,accounting for 71.7%of the total.Prescription review found that unreasonable syndrome differentiation,inappropriate combination medication and repeated medication were the main reasons for the unreasonable application of pediatric oral Chinese patent medicine.Conclusion:Chinese patent medicines for children in Sichuan Maternal and Child Health Hospital can meet the needs of pediatric diseases,but the level of rational drug use should be further improved.关键词
