Abstract

Building information modelling(BIM)is mainly applied to single buildings,and the model constructed can only reflect the details of each component of the building.Geographic information system(GIS)has powerful data processing and analysis functions,and it is widely used in municipal planning,intelligent water conservancy,intelligent transportation,emergency security,smart city,three-dimensional(3D)real estate,and other fields.However,traditional GIS technology is only applicable to the display of macro models and can only reflect the appearance and geographical location of buildings,failing to obtain the internal details of the buildings.Similar to BIM,they are both spatial information models.GIS is mainly used for outdoor modelling,while BIM focuses on indoor modelling.This paper mainly studied the application of GIS+BIM technology to transformation,analysis,and processing of buildings'computer aided design(CAD)data and 3D modelling and finally realized the model visualization of BIM.This method extended GIS from outdoor application to indoor application and from the macroscopic world to the microscopic architecture,and it completed the establishment of a component-level 3D model,which had certain practical significance and application value for exploring the 3D modelling research of GIS+BIM.
