Abstract

Sichuan Basin has abundant oil and gas resources,and Permian strata are important exploration target se-ries.In order to clarify the initial time of Middle Permian tectono-depositional differentiation in northern-central Si-chuan Basin and to guide natural gas exploration,new and old drilled wells and seismic section data are integrated to analyze tectono-depositional response characteristics of Middle Permian Qixia-Maokou formations in northern-central Sichuan Basin,confirming that Permian tectono-depositional differentiation in Sichuan Basin started from middle-late Qixia Formation,and regional extension led to tectono-depositional differentiation within basin.The re-sults shows that sedimentary environment of Qixia Formation in northern-central Sichuan Basin is dominated by car-bonate gentle slope sedimentation,with small scale of beach bodies developed due to weak tectono-depositional dif-ferentiation,while tectono-depositional differentiation intensified in middle-late Maokou Formation,resulting in al-ternations of uplifts and sags in northern-central Sichuan Basin,with large-scale development of multi-stages plat-form margin reef beaches.The differentiation not only resulted in superimposed development of multi-stages plat-form margin zone reservoirs in Qixia-Maokou formations,but also led to the formation of several sets of source rocks in rifted deep water area,showing good source-reservoir-seal configuration relationship.Deep and large faults formed in the same period can effectively connect source rocks and improve reservoir property,providing favorable conditions for gas accumulation.The research greatly expands exploration domains of Middle Permian northern-cen-tral Sichuan Basin,and points out the direction for exploration of Middle Permian Qixia-Maokou formations.
