摘要

Abstract

Akkermansia muciniphila(A.muciniphila)is a promising next-generation probiotics that has been shown to be closely associated with intestinal barrier homeostasis of host.Here we reviewed the biological prop-erties of A.muciniphila,its distribution in the gut,as well as its effects and mechanisms on the intestinal barri-er.A.muciniphila can participate in the regulation of the intestinal barrier through multiple pathways,including enhancing the tight junctions of intestinal epithelial cells(IECs),promoting the regeneration of IECs,facilita-ting the production of mucin and goblets to enhance the mucus barrier,inhibiting inflammatory responses,and influencing the gut microbiota.Future research needs to build different clinical models based on existing de-scriptive studies to elaborate in detail the molecular mechanisms of the interaction between A.muciniphila and host intestinal barrier,providing new directions for the study of intestinal health and the development of probi-otics.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition,2025,37(3):1458-1469]
