摘要

Abstract

Proanthocyanidins(PACs),also known as condensed tannins,are a class of polyphenolic com-pounds that are widely distributed in many plants.In recent years,PACs have attracted wide attention due to their diverse biological activities.Many studies have confirmed the significant role of PACs in regulating the in-flammatory response and promoting the repair of damaged tissues,revealing its outstanding potential as an anti-inflammatory active substance.In vivo and in vitro studies have found that the anti-inflammatory mechanism of PACs involves a variety of different pathways.First of all,PACs can effectively reduce the level of oxidative stress;secondly,PACs have a regulatory effect on the arachidonic acid metabolic pathway;in addition,PACs can also inhibit the inflammatory response by affecting inflammation-related signaling pathways and inducing macrophage polarization.This review aims to review the anti-inflammatory activity,mechanism of action and the latest research progress of PACs in livestock and poultry production,so as to provide reference for the ra-tional and efficient application of PACs in livestock and poultry production.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutri-tion,2025,37(3):1489-1502]
