Effects of Tannic Acid,Ellagic Acid and Gallic Acid on Growth Performance,Slaughter Performance,Serum Biochemical Indexes and Antioxidant Function of Broilers

Abstract
This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary tannic acid,ellagic acid and gal-lic acid on growth performance,slaughter performance,serum biochemical indexes and antioxidant function of broilers.A total of 336 one-day-old male Arbor Acres(AA)broilers were randomly divided into 4 groups with 7 replicates per group and 12 broilers per replicate.The control group(CON group)was fed a basal diet,and the experimental groups were fed basal diet+300 mg/kg tannic acid(TA group),basal diet+300 mg/kg ellag-ic acid(EA group)and basal diet+300 mg/kg gallic acid(GA group),respectively.The experiment lasted for 38 days.The results showed as follows:1)compared with CON group,the body weight at 21 days of age and average daily weight gain and average daily feed intake during 1 to 21 days of age of EA group were sig-nificantly decreased(P<0.05),the feed to gain ratio during 1 to 21 days of age was significantly increased(P<0.05),and the average daily feed intake during 1 to 38 days of age was significantly decreased(P<0.05).2)Compared with CON group,the spleen index at 38 days of age of TA and EA groups was trend to increase(P=0.084).3)Compared with the CON group,the fecal moisture content at 21 days of age of TA group was significantly decreased(P<0.05).4)Compared with CON group,the semi-eviscerated percentage of GA group was significantly increased(P<0.05),and the eviscerated percentage was trend to increase(P=0.053);the abdominal fat percentage of EA group was significantly increased(P<0.05).5)Compared with CON group,the serum aspartate aminotransferase activity at 21 days of age of TA,EA and GA groups was significantly decreased(P<0.05);the serum aspartate aminotransferase/alanine aminotransferase at 21 days of age of EA and GA groups was significantly decreased(P<0.05);the contents of glucose and triglyceride in serum at 21 days of age of TA and GA groups were significantly decreased(P<0.05),and the serum high density lipoprotein content was significantly increased(P<0.05).6)Compared with CON group,the jejunum mucosa catalase activity at 38 days of age of EA group was significantly increased(P<0.05),and the serum superoxide dismutase activity at 38 days of age of GA group was significantly increased(P<0.05).In conclu-sion,dietary tannic acid can reduce the fecal moisture content of broilers,has a convergence effect,and can also promote liver lipid metabolism to a certain extent;dietary ellagic acid can improve the antioxidant function of broilers;dietary gallic acid can improve the slaughter performance and antioxidant function of broilers;diet-ary tannic acid,ellagic acid and gallic acid can all reduce the serum aspartate aminotransferase activity,and has a certain effect on alleviating liver cell injury.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition,2025,37(3):1748-1759]关键词
