摘要

Abstract

This experiment was conducted to study the effects of α-lipoic acid(α-LA)on growth perform-ance,blood biochemical,hormone,antioxidant and immune indices and economic benefits of heat-stressed sheep during fatting period.One hundred 2 to 3-month-old Dorper×Hu F1 generation ram lambs with an aver-age weight of(25.5±1.9)kg were selected and randomly divided into 5 groups with 5 replicates per group and 4 sheep per replicate.The control group(CTL group)was fed a basal diet,while the experimental groups were fed the basal diets supplemented with 300(1LA group),450(2LA group),600(3LA group)and 750 mg/kg DM(4LA group)α-LA,respectively.The pre-experimental period lasted for 7 days,and the ex-perimental period lasted for 60 days.The results showed as follows:1)during the experimental period,the temperature humidity index(THI)in the sheep house was mostly between 79 and 83,the average rectal tem-perature of sheep was above 39.5℃,and both respiratory rate and heart rate were higher than the normal range by a wide margin,indicating that sheep were under heat stress state.2)During days 1 to 60,the average dry matter intake(ADMI)of 1LA,2LA,3LA and 4LA groups was significantly higher than that of the CTL group(P<0.05).3)On days 30 and 60,there were no significant differences in serum biochemical indices a-mong all groups(P>0.05).4)On day 30,the contents of growth hormone(GH),triiodothyronine(T3)and insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1)in plasma of 3LA group were significantly higher than those of the CTL group(P<0.05).On days 30 and 60,the plasma cortisol(CORT)content of 1LA,2LA,3LA and 4LA groups was significantly lower than that of the CTL group(P<0.05).5)On day 30,the serum malondi-aldehyde(MDA)content of 3LA group was significantly lower than that of the CTL group(P<0.05),and the activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD)and catalase(CAT)in serum of 3LA and 4LA groups were sig-nificantly higher than those of the CTL group(P<0.05).On day 60,the serum MDA content of 1LA,2LA,3LA and 4LA groups was significantly lower than that of the CTL group(P<0.05),the serum SOD activity of 4LA group was significantly higher than that of the CTL group(P<0.05),the serum glutathione peroxidase(GPx)activity of 1LA,2LA,3LA and 4LA groups was significantly lower than that of the CTL group(P<0.05),and the serum CAT activity of 3LA group was significantly higher than that of the CTL group(P<0.05).6)On day 30,the contents of immunoglobulin A(IgA)and immunoglobulin G(IgG)in serum of 3LA and 4LA groups were significantly higher than those of the CTL group(P<0.05),and the serum inter-leukin-10(IL-10)content of 4LA group was significantly higher than that of the CTL group(P<0.05).On day 60,the serum interleukin-1β(IL-1β)content of 2LA,3LA and 4LA groups was significantly lower than that of the CTL group(P<0.05),and the serum IL-10 content of 3LA and 4LA group was significantly higher than that of the CTL group(P<0.05).7)The gross profit on days 1 to 30 of 1LA and 3LA groups was higher than that of the CTL group.In conclusion,dietary LA can improve the feed intake,antioxidant capacity and immune capacity of sheep.Comprehensive analysis,the α-LA optimal supplemental level is 600 mg/kg DM,and it suitable as a short-term feed additive.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition,2025,37(3):1868-1879]
