Abstract
Microcystic stromal tumor(MCST)is initially defined as a type of ovarian stromal tumor characterized by distinctive microcystic architecture.It is extremely rare in the testis.This study retrospectively analyzes the clinicopathological data of a case of adolescent testicular MCST diagnosed in May 2022 at the Department of Pathology,Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center.The histological morphology is described and analyzed,with immunohistochemical staining used to detect the expression of cellular markers and Sanger sequencing performed to identify gene mutations.The patient was admitted after a one-year history of right testicular enlargement.The tumor measured 5.5 cm in greatest diameter and appeared as a round,nodular mass grossly.Microscopically,it showed expansile growth,divided by hyalinized fibrous stroma into irregular lobulated or nested structures,with various patterns including microcyst,reticular,and pulmonary edema-like features.The tumor cells were uniform in size,had moderate cytoplasm,inconspicuous nucleoli,rare mitotic figures,and no necrosis.Immunohistochemically,tumor cells showed nuclear positivity for β-catenin and cyclin D1,while sex cord-stromal markers were negative or weakly expressed.Sanger sequencing revealed a missense mutation in catenin beta-1(CTNNB1)exon 3 gene.No recurrence or metastasis was observed during 15 months of follow-up after radical orchiectomy.关键词
