RCEP High-tech Products Trade Network,Digital Trade Barriers and Value Chain Division Status

Abstract
As an important exploration of regional opening up and cooperation,the RCEP agreement is also an important platform for China to seize the high ground in the field of scientific and technological innovation,and plays a leading role in the new pattern of global competition.The signing and entry into force of the RCEP agreement has brought indispensable target market and technological advantages for China to resist the technological blockade of developed countries.On the basis of theoretical analysis,this paper uses the high-tech product trade data of 15 RCEP member countries from 2007 to 2023 to measure the structure index of the RCEP high-tech product trade network,and investigates its impact on the value chain division position and its mechanism.The study finds that:(1)China is gradually becoming a core country in the RCEP high-tech products trade network.(2)The deepe-ning trade between RCEP member countries will help China diversify the risk of over-concentration in the import and export market of high-tech products.(3)The centrality of RCEP member states in the high-tech products trade network has a significant role in promoting the promotion of their division of labor in the value chain.(4)The promotion effect of the RCEP high-tech products trade network on the division of labor in the value chain will be negatively affected by digital trade barriers.Therefore,China should take advantage of its core position in the RCEP high-tech product trade network to play a good role of"carrying on the high and starting the low",and build a high-quality RCEP trade platform to align with the Belt and Road Initiative.At the same time,we should also seize the opportunities of digital trade,break down digital trade barriers,and strengthen differentiated cooperation with RCEP member states in the field of digital economy.关键词
