Correlation Analysis Between Health Information Acquisition and Health Literacy Level of Elderly People in a District of Chongqing

Abstract
Objective To analyze the correlation between health information acquisition and health literacy level among elderly people aged 65 and above in Shapingba District,Chongqing,in order to provide a basis for studying the dissemination mode of health information among the elderly and improving their health literacy level.Methods A multi-stage stratified cluster random method was used to select 700 elderly residents in Shapingba District for a cross-sectional survey,and Pearson correlation analysis was used to investigate the correlation between health information dissemination and health literacy.Results The overall health information acquisition level of elderly people in Shapingba District was at low,medium,and high levels,accounting for 0.99%,65.58%,and 36.42%respectively;elderly people with low,medium,and high levels of health literacy accounted for 3.15%,62.09%,and 34.77%,respectively.Conclusion There is a positive correlation between the level of health information acquisition and health literacy among elderly people aged 65 and above in Shapingba District.Efforts should be made to improve the level of health information acquisition among the elderly through multiple channels in order to enhance their health literacy.关键词
