摘要

Abstract

Ferropotsis is a form of regulated cell death characterized by the iron-dependent accumulation of lipid hydroperox-ides to lethal levels,which is distinct from any known programmed cell death in the biological processes and morphological characteris-tics.The ferroptosis is correlated with numerous metabolic pathways,including iron homeostasis,lipid metabolism,and redox homeo-stasis,associating with the occurrence and treatment of hematological malignancies.Oxidative stress is a state of imbalance between oxidation and antioxidation,producing excessive levels of ROS,which can lead to deranged control of cellular functions and is also an important factor in tumor development.Ferroptosis pathway is associated with oxidative metabolism,and ROS not only participates in the regulation of ferroptosis and aslo play a key role in it.Whereas,the occurrence of ferroptosis will inevitably lead to lipid peroxida-tion.This article systematically summarizes the roles of iron death and oxidative stress in the development,progression,and treatment of multiple myeloma,with a view to providing new strategies for the treatment of multiple myeloma and overcoming drug resistance.
