Deduction of the Pathogenesis and Treatment Based on Clinical Symptoms of"En-dogenous Heat due to Yin Deficiency"in the Huangdi Neijing

Abstract
The theory of"endogenous heat due to yin deficiency"in the Su Wen·Regulation of the Channels has profoundly guided the development of traditional Chinese medicine's theory of the pathogenesis of heat for two thousand years.Based on this,Li Dongyuan proposed the widely influential theory of yin fire.However,the detailed but unclear de-scription led to endless debates.This project discussed the pathogenesis deduction and clinical treatment from teaching and clinical research perspectives.Through literature interpretation,the meaning of"endogenous heat due to yin deficiency"was deduced and demonstrated:spleen qi deficiency leads to damage in middle energizer transportation and transformation,which affects the proper dispersal of upper energizer's qi as well as the transportation and transformation of spleen qi.Then,it causes transportation and transformation dysfunction of stomach qi,resulting in heat due to stagnation.It is pro-posed that the initial causes are emotional overreaction,irregular diet,cold temperature discomfort,and injuries from labor.Besides,spleen qi deficiency is the initial cause of the yin fire production.However,spleen deficiency and weak earth lead to internal generation of dampness and turbidity.Then,depression turns into heat.Finally,deficiency in kidney water makes ministerial fire upstream,triggering the heart,liver,and stomach fire.In conclusion,the ministerial fire of the gate of life is the main source of yin fire.Therefore,Dongyuan uses sweet and warm medicines to tonify the spleen and promote yang qi,sweet and cold medicines to clear heat and reduce yin fire,and wind medicines to dispel depression and dampness.Thus,the core formulas for treatment include Buzhong Yiqi Decoction,the sweet and warm medicine to reduce heat,Bupiwei Xieyinhuo Shengyang Decoction to promote yang and reduce fire,and Shengyang Sahuo decoction to promote yang and scat-ter fire.关键词
