Research progress on Marburg virus disease
摘要
Abstract
Since its first discovery during outbreaks in Marburg,Germany,Frankfurt,and Yugoslavia in 1967,the Marburg virus disease has caused multiple high-fatality epidemics on various continents,primarily concentrated in sub-Saharan Africa.Belonging to the Filoviridae family,the virus often leads to severe hemorrhagic fever in infected individuals,followed by organ failure and death.The Marburg virus disease can be transmitted person-to-person in household or healthcare settings.Currently,there are no effective preventive or therapeutic measures available.However,systematic supportive care can improve survival rates.In order to proactively address potential future outbreaks,this article provides a comprehensive review of the virology,pathological features,clinical manifestations,diagnostics,antiviral drugs,vaccine development,and preventative strategy of the Marburg virus disease.The aim is to enhance the understanding of healthcare professionals in China regarding this virus and provide direct or indirect theoretical and practical references for future prevention and control efforts against potential outbreaks.关键词
