Abstract

The effects of Na2CO3,NaHCO3 and NaHCO3/Na2CO3 buffer solutions on the degumming rate of waste silk fabrics were investigated separately in order to determine the optimal degumming pH of the two buffer solutions to realize the optimized process.The completely degummed silk fibers were dissolved in lithi-um bromide and ternary solution,and the concentration,bath ratio,temperature and time of the two dissolved waste silk fabrics were investigated to determine the optimized dissolution process of lithium bromide concen-tration of 9 mol/L,bath ratio of 5∶100,temperature of 75℃,and time of 60 min.Silk fabrics were weighted using a silk protein weighting solution,and the optimal weighting process was 10 g/L finishing solution mass concentration,bath ratio 1∶40,and temperature 60℃.The treated silk fabrics were tested in terms of color and properties,and a silk fabric with about 5.7%weight gain could be obtained without affecting the normal apparent color and basic properties of silk fabrics.
