Expression and Clinical Significance of Mismatch Repair Proteins in Cancer Tissues of Elderly Patients with Sporadic Colorectal Cancer

Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of mismatch repair proteins(MMRP)in cancer tis-sues of elderly patients with sporadic colorectal cancer and analyze their relationship with clinicopathologi-cal features and prognosis.Methods A total of 82 elderly patients with sporadic colorectal cancer admit-ted to our hospital from May 2020 to April 2021 were selected as the research subjects.Cancer tissue spec-imens were taken for MMRP(including MLH1,PMS2,MSH2 and MSH6)detection,and postoperative follow-up was conducted for at least 3 years.The correlation between MMRP expression and clinicopatho-logical features,3-year overall survival(OS)rate and disease-free survival(DFS)rate after operation was analyzed.Results Among the 82 patients,16 cases(19.51％)showed loss of MMRP expression and 66 cases(80.49％)had intact MMRP expression.There were significant differences in tumor diameter,TNM stage,degree of histological differentiation,vascular tumor thrombus and lymph node metastasis between the loss of MMRP expression group and the intact MMRP expression group(P＜0.05).The 3-year OS rate(68.75％,11/16)and 3-year DFS rate(56.25％,9/16)of the loss of MMRP expression group were significantly higher than those of the intact MMRP expression group(43.94％,29/66;33.33％,22/66,P＜0.05).Conclusion The expression of MMPR in elderly patients with sporadic colorectal cancer is re-lated to their clinicopathological features and prognosis.MMPR detection may help predict the condition and prognosis of elderly patients with sporadic colorectal cancer and has certain application value.关键词
