Abstract
Objective To discover the correlation of aided tone burst cortical auditory evoked potentials(CAEP)responsive thresholds with aided behavioral audiometry thresholds at 0.5、1,2 and 4 kHz in children with sensorineural hearing loss after hearing aid intervention,to provide rapid objective evaluation in awake state as reference for hearing aid fitting.Methods Our study recruited 27 children(27 ears)with mild to profound sensorineural hearing loss(SNHL)who visited Huier Hearing Clinic between 1st January 2023 to 15th October 2023 and the aided CAEP P1 responsive thresholds and aided behavioral thresholds at frequencies 0.5,1,2 and 4 kHz were collected for correlation analysis.Results There were strong correlation between free-field CAEP P1 thresholds and free-field aided behavioral thresholds in children across 0.5,1,2 and 4 kHz(r for hearing aid interventions=0.825,0.766,0.583 and 0.610,respectively).At the tested frequencies,the difference between aided thresholds for hearing aid intervention was(6.30±8.27),(3.52±8.86),(2.41±9.84),(1.67±10.83)dB HL respectively.Conclusion With hearing aid intervention,aided free-field CAEP P1 responsive thresholds and aided behavioral thresholds demonstrated significant correlation with small differences in children with SNHL.Thus CAEP is capable in providing objective insights upon hearing aid fitting in awake children,increasing clinical testing efficiency.关键词
