吉林蛟河针阔混交林主要阔叶树种叶性状对冠层垂直高度变化的响应
Response of leaf trait of dominant broad-leaved tree species to canopy vertical height changes in coniferous and broadleaved mixed forest in Jiaohe,Jilin Province

Abstract
[Objective]This study aimed to elucidate the response mechanisms of leaf traits in coniferous and broadleaved mixed forest to change in the canopy environment,whilst shedding light on the nuanced variation patterns of these traits both intra-specifically and inter-specifically across diverse habitats.[Method]We took four predominant plant species from the mixed conifer-broadleaf forest ecosystem of Jiaohe,Jilin-Quercus mongolic,Ulmus japonica,Tilia amurensis,Acer mono Maxim as the object,measured their ten functional traits,such as leaf dry mass(LDM),individual leaf area(ILA),mass-based leafing intensity(Lim),leaf dry matter content(LDMC),specific leaf area(SLA),leaf tissue density(LTD),chlorophyll content(Chl),leaf carbon content(LCC),leaf ni-trogen content(LNC)and the carbon to nitrogen ratio(C∶N)in the leaves,and further conducted a comparative analysis between them.[Result](1)A significant variation in the distribution of leaf traits was observed at differ-ent canopy heights,with the canopy top predominantly exhibiting higher LDM,Lim,LDMC,LTD,and LCC,and lower ILA and Chl.(2)At the canopy top,LDM,ILA,LTD,and Chl showed greater inter-species variation,whereas,Lim,LDMC,LNC and LCC exhibited more variability at the canopy base.Notably,the Chl content in A.mono Maxim was significantly higher across the canopy gradient than that in other species(P<0.05),the LCC and LNC contents in U.japonica were significantly lower than those in other species.(3)Among intra-specific changes,the LDM,LDMC,LTD and LCC of Q.mongolic at the canopy top were significantly higher than those at the base(P<0.05),and the Chl content in A.mono Maxim at the canopy top exceeded that at the base(P<0.05).[Conclu-sion]These results provide a crucial research support for optimizing the resource trade-off strategy of"invest-ment-return"in plants within heterogeneous environments.关键词
