Comparative analysis of mechanical properties of composite girder bridges with corrugated steel web and flat steel web

Abstract
To find out the differences in mechanical properties of composite girder bridges with corrugated steel web(referred to as"CSRC composite girder bridges")and composite girder bridges with flat steel web(referred to as"FSRC composite girder bridges"),combined with the supporting project,two composite girder scale models with different web forms(corrugated steel web and flat steel web)were designed for comparative tests according to the principle of the same beam height and the same amount of steel.Two sets of refined models of the full bridge were established to further compare and analyze the mechanical properties of the two under the most unfavorable working conditions,such as bending capacity,longitudinal bending deflection,rigid torsion,and buckling stability.The research findings indicate that the initial stiffness and ultimate bearing capacity of CSRC test beam are similar to those of FSRC test beam.For CSRC test beam,the lower flange of the steel beam yielded first,followed by crushing of the concrete at the top of the bridge deck,resulting in flexural failure.The corrugated steel web remained intact,with the web within the bottom 50%of its height reaching yield strength and entering the strengthening phase.The bending contribution of the corrugated steel web cannot be overlooked.For FSRC test beam,the lower flange of the steel beam yielded first,followed by shear deformation of the flat steel web,resulting in shear failure.Under the same beam height and steel consumption conditions,the difference in bending capacity between FSRC composite girder bridge and CSRC composite girder bridge is relatively small.The accordion effect of the corrugated steel web can reduce the tensile stress transmitted from the bottom of the steel beam to the bridge deck in the negative moment region,thereby lowering the risk of bridge deck cracking.The torsional stiffness of the two types of composite girder bridges is similar.But under the action of eccentric loading,the corrugated steel web exhibits a more uniform distribution of additional shear stress,thus avoiding shear deformation caused by uneven stress on the web.The buckling stability factors of the first five orders of CSRC composite girder bridge are 5.0~6.5 times that of FSRC composite girder bridge,and has better buckling stability.The results can provide references for the design and application of similar structural systems.关键词
