Multivariate Information Metallogenic Prediction of Granite-Type Uranium Deposits Based on MRAS in the Heyuan Orefield,Guangdong Province

Abstract
The Heyuan orefield in Guangdong Province is a granite-hosted uranium orefield located at the southern end of the Wuyishan uranium metallogenic belt.The uranium mineralization types are classified into the fractured alteration rock subtype within the granite inner-zone and the overlying sedimentary basin subtype in the granite outer zone.To further evaluate the uranium mineralization potential of the Heyuan area and guide future uranium exploration,this study systematically identified the predictive elements for granite-hosted uranium deposits based on research of typical deposits and regional metallogenic patterns.By using the comprehensive geological information prediction technology for deposit models and the MRAS platform,a multivariate information-based uranium mineralization prediction was conducted.The study also determined the prospects and directions for expanding uranium resources in the Heyuan area.Results show that uranium deposits are controlled by factors such as uranium-rich granite bodies,fault-depression zones,fault structures,different types of contact interfaces,and hydrothermal alteration,with fault structures being the most critical ore-controlling factor.By using the weight of evidence method,21 metallogenic prediction zones were delineated,including six Class A,seven Class B,and eight Class C prediction zones.This indicates that the Heyuan region has significant potential for granite-hosted uranium mineralization and promising prospecting prospects,making it a potential new uranium exploration base in southern China.The next prospecting should focus on the areas surrounding the Heyuan fault-depression zone,with an emphasis on expanding exploration in the deep and peripheral regions of known deposits(points).Additionally,efforts should be made to explore the outer zone-type uranium deposits at the contact between the red basin and granite bodies,as well as the fractured alteration rock-type uranium deposits in areas with developed magmatic,structural,and alteration activities within the granite bodies.关键词
