Classification and Recognition of Underground Targets with Full Polarimetric Golay Complementary Coded GPR

Abstract
Combined full polarimetric Golay complementary coded GPR with the H-Alpha decomposition technique,a method to accu-rately and quickly identified underground targets is proposed.The proposed method utilizes Golay complementary codes with zero side-lobe as the probe signals,which can improve the signal-to-noise ratio of the radar system.By using the full polarization detection mode,more target information can be obtained than in the single polarization detection mode.After applying the H-Alpha decomposition tech-nique to process the full polarimetric radar data,the classification and identification of different targets are achieved.The experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively identify underground targets with different polarizations.Additionally,in a multi-target scene,the effect of the presence of other objects on target recognition is investigated.The results show that when there are targets with the same polarimetric attributes,the target classification results are not affected.In contrast,when there are targets with different polarimetric attributes,one of the target classification results on the template is shifted towards another.Nevertheless,the data points of targets with different polarimetric attributes are still mainly concentrated in the specified area,and the targets can also be identified.关键词
