A field calibration method for channel consistency of linear equispaced array multibeam sonar

Abstract
To achieve accurate calibration of linear equispaced array multi-beam sonar channels in non-laboratory environments,a method was developed.The ideal phase was estimated based on the principle that the phase from a fixed direction signal changes linearly with the element number of linear equispaced array under far-field condition.Initial parameters for phase inconsistency were determined based on deviations between measured and estimated values.Taking advantage of the fact that the measured results on the same seafloor are independent of the device direction,a method for calculating phase residual errors was analyzed.Ultimately,an unbiased estimation formula for phase inconsistency parameters was provided.Simulation was conducted according to the specifications of IBeam8120 sonar,showing results consistent with theoretical predictions.This method can be conducted in no-laboratory,thereby enhancing the convenience of channel consistency calibration.关键词
