摘要

Abstract

To reveal and quantify the impact of over-discharge cycling on the thermal sta-bility and thermal safety risks of lithium-ion batteries,adiabatic thermal runaway experi-ments were conducted on 21700-type NCA lithium-ion batteries aged through over-dis-charge cycling.The variations in characteristic thermal runaway temperatures,including the onset temperature of self-heating,the triggering temperature of thermal runaway,the maximum thermal runaway temperature,and others,as well as the changes in the kinetic parameters of the self-heating phase,were analyzed.The results showed that the changes in thermal runaway characteristics reflected a decline in the thermal stability of the batter-ies,and the reduction in activation energy indicated an increased thermal safety risk for batteries subjected to over-discharge cycling.
