Abstract

A study is conducted on the roof cutting and pressure relief parameters of the retaining roadway along goaf with fully mechanized mining in Yangdong Mine.Theoretical calculation method is used to obtain the roof cutting parameters,and numerical simulation is used to analyze the roof collapse,surrounding rock displacement,and stress distribution situations of the roof cutting.The results show that the optimal parameters are a roof cutting height of 13 m and a roof cutting angle of 15°.Under the roof cutting state,the roof collapse effect is relatively good,and the cutting surface blocks the transmission of displacement,resulting in a significant pressure relief area on the roof;The roadway roof subsidence and stress situations in the roof cutting state,as well as the horizontal displacement and vertical stress effect of the filling body,are better than those under the uncut roof condition;The maximum displacement amount of the roof and floor during on-site monitoring is 280 mm,and the maximum displacement amount of the two sides is 460 mm.Roof cutting and pressure relief can effectively enhance the stability of retaining roadway along goaf.
