Advances in Nutritional Management of Chronic Kidney Disease of Dogs and Cats
摘要
Abstract
Chronic kidney disease(CKD)is a chronic disorder caused by a combination of various factors,primarily characterized by structural and functional impairment of the kidneys,and is more common in aged animals.Nutritional management is a primary clinical intervention for CKD and delays the progression of the disease.In the past,nutritional management focused on adjusting the nutrient content in feed based on the specific nutritional needs of the diseased animals.However,in recent years,with significant research achievements in using traditional Chinese medicine as a feed additive,the direction of enhancing nutritional management effects through traditional Chinese medicine has been gradually gained attention.This paper reviews the domestic and international research on the nutritional management and treatment of CKD,introduces the application prospects and case studies of traditional Chinese medicine in feed and prescription diets,and summarizes the current state of research in this direction.The aim is to provide a reference for research and development in related fields and to promote the healthy growth of the pet healthcare industry.关键词
