Effects of early comprehensive rehabilitation on limb motor function and daily living ability of postoperative patients with spinal cord injury

Abstract
Objective To observe the effects of early comprehensive rehabilitation on limb motor function and daily living ability in postoperative patients with spinal cord injury.Methods Sixty patients with spinal cord injury who under-went spinal decompression surgery were randomly divided into the observation group(25 cases)and the control group(35 cases).One week after surgery,patients in these two groups separately received early comprehensive rehabilitation and conventional rehabilitation under the guidance of healthcare professionals.The early comprehensive rehabilitation treat-ment included traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation,medium-frequency electrical stimulation,and paraplegic limb comprehensive training.After 3 months of rehabilitation,the therapeutic effect was evaluated,and the excellent and good rate was calculated.The limb motor function was assessed using the American Spinal Injury Association(ASIA)scale,and the daily living ability was evaluated using the Barthel index before and after 3 months of rehabilitation for both groups.Results After treatment,the observation group had 2 excellent,14 good,6 fair,and 3 poor cases,with an ex-cellent and good rate of 64.00%.The control group had 3 excellent,9 good,15 fair,and 8 poor cases,with an excellent and good rate of 34.29%.The excellent and good rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Compared with pre-treatment scores,both groups showed significant improvements in ASIA scores and Barthel index after rehabilitation,with the observation group showing a more significant increase(all P<0.05).Conclusion Early comprehensive rehabilitation treatment helps improve limb motor function and daily living ability in postoperative patients with spinal cord injury.关键词
