Abstract

BRDF is an important model for the research of optical characteristics and radiation transfer simulation of lake water bodies.This paper analyzes the applicability of Taihu Lake,a typical turbid inland lake in China,by applying common ocean directional radiation simulation models to inland lakes.Based on the natural geographical characteristics of Taihu Lake,Taihu Lake is divided into 7 bay areas.The directional radiation simulation results were calculated based on five semi-empirical BRDF models(MAG2002,Lee2004,Park-Ruddick 2005,Woerd-Pasterkamp2008,and Lee2011),and were quantitatively fitted and compared with the directional radiation after atmospheric correction of multi-angle MISR satellite remote sensing data.The comprehensive results show that Woerd-Pasterkamp2008 and Lee2011 have the best fitting results and are the best applicable models for inland lakes.
