Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effects of percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP)and percutaneous kyphoplasty(PKP)in elderly patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures(OVCF).Methods:A total of 75 patients with OVCF admitted to the Department of Orthopedics No.2 in Zhuanghe Central Hospital from January 2023 to May 2024 were selected as the research objects,and randomly divided into a PVP group(n=37)and a PKP group(n=38)according to the order of admission.A total of 37 patients admitted first from January 2023 to September 2023 were included in PVP group and received PVP treatment,and 38 patients admitted later 3.from October 2023 to May 2024 were included in PKP group and received PKP treatment.The surgical indexes,clinical efficacy,vertebral condition,prognostic quality and the occurrence of complication of the two groups were compared.Results:The amount of blood loss and bone cement perfusion in PKP group was less than those in PVP group,and the operative time was shorter than that in PVP group,with statistical significance(P<0.05).The total effective rate of PKP group was 97.37%,which was higher than 81.08%of PVP group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Two months after surgery,the height of anterior and posterior vertebral margins in both groups was higher than before surgery,and PKP group was higher than PVP group,Cobb angle decreased in both groups after operation,and PKP group was smaller than PVP group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Two months after surgery,the scores of Visual Analogue Scale and Oswestry Disability Index scale in both groups were lower than those of before surgery,and the scores of Barthel Index in PKP group were lower than those in PVP group,and the scores of Barthel Index in both groups were higher than those of before surgery,and the scores in PKP group were higher than those in PVP group,with statistical significance(P<0.05).The complication rate of PKP group was 10.53%,which was lower than 29.73%of PVP group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The clinical treatment of OVCF patients with PKP has the advantages of less trauma,less bone cement perfusion,it can promote the recovery of vertebral function of patients,help them improve self-care ability,improve quality of life,and has a high treatment safety.关键词
