Abstract

Investigating the seismic performance of prefabricated low shear walls with a novel rabbet unbonded horizontal connection(RUHC)can contribute to improving the overall structural resilience of assembled shear wall systems.This study conducts a low-cycle repeated loading simulation of RUHC low shear walls and compares their seismic performance with that of flat interface joint(PJ)and cast-in-place(XJ)low shear walls.The analysis focuses on failure modes,hysteretic behavior,horizontal bearing capacity,ductility,energy dissipation capacity,and stiffness degradation.The results indicate that RUHC low shear walls exhibit less structural damage compared to PJ and XJ low shear walls;Compared to PJ and XJ low shear walls,RUHC and PJ low shear walls demonstrate relatively fuller hysteresis loops,suggesting better energy dissipation.Furthermore,RUHC low shear walls outperform both PJ and XJ low shear walls in terms of yield load,peak load,and ultimate load.The ductility and energy dissipation capacity of RUHC low shear walls are also notably enhanced compared to the other two types.The stiffness degradation trends of RUHC and PJ low shear walls are largely similar,whereas XJ low shear walls exhibit a more rapid rate of stiffness degradation.
