Pressure characteristics during hydrocarbon charging of Ordovician reservoirs in transitional zone between Awati and Manjar Depressions in Tarim Basin
摘要
Abstract
To determine the dynamic conditions of Ordovician reservoirs during hydrocarbon charging in the transitional zone between the Awati and Manjar depressions in Tarim Basin, formation fluid pressure was restored using a combination of mi-croscopic observation, laser confocal analyses of fluid inclusions, and PVTx numerical simulation, based on current meas-ured pressure data. The results indicate that yellow to yellowish-green,bluish-green,and blue oil inclusions,as well as gas inclusions, are present in the Ordovician reservoirs of the study area.Their corresponding gas-liquid ratios are in<5%,4%-8%,and>8%,respectively,while the homogenization temperatures of associated aqueous inclusions are in 70-80℃,90-100℃,and 130-140℃,respectively.These findings reveal three distinct hydrocarbon charging events occurring in the late Caledonian, late Hercynian, and Himalayan periods, with corresponding paleo-pressure coefficients of 1.03-1.29,1.05-1.31,and 1.09-1.61,respectively.Over time, the formation overpressure amplitude gradually increased, and the pressure coefficients within the same period exhibited a south-high,north-low pattern. The spatial variation in overpressure distribution is primarily controlled by thermal maturity of source rock, which is higher in the south and lower in the north, and tectonic compression strength, which is stronger in the south and weaker in the north.Additionally, oil cracking during the Himalayan period further enhanced reservoir overpressure in the Shunnan area.关键词
