An Exploration of the Pathogenesis and Treatment Methods of Ulcerative Colitis from the Perspective of"the Foundation of Acquired Constitution"theory in Traditional Chinese Medicine

Abstract
Ulcerative Colitis(UC)is a chronic,nonspecific inflammatory disease of the intestines with complex pathogenesis involving multiple factors such as genetics,environment,and immunity.Globally,the incidence of UC has been increasing,and with societal advancements,its prevalence has notably risen in China.In traditional Chinese medicine,the kidney is considered the"foundation of prenatal essence,"and the spleen is the"foundation of postnatal nutrition."Both play a crucial role in the occurrence and progression of UC.Spleen-kidney deficiency has been confirmed as one of the key pathomechanisms of UC.The theory of primordial essence'in traditional Chinese medicine provides a unique perspective for understanding the pathophysiology of UC and suggests that dysfunction of the spleen and kidney is closely related to the onset and development of UC.By focusing on the spleen and kidney,we can delve into the interactions between intestinal microbiota imbalance and immune system abnor-malities,as well as their specific mechanisms in the pathogenesis of UC.The therapeutic strategy based on the primordial es-sence'theory aims to restore intestinal microbial balance and normal immune function through the regulation of spleen-kidney function.Warm supplementation therapy for the spleen and kidney is used to treat UC,supported by a case study.关键词
