Abstract
The theory of"Old age seeking the spleen and stomach"in traditional Chinese medicine elucidates the physiologi-cal and pathological characteristics of the elderly,serving as the basis for geriatric diagnosis and treatment.A variety of geriatric diseases are associated with dysfunction of the Fu-organs.However,the specific micro-mechanism of"Fu"in traditional Chi-nese medicine remains unclear.The intestinal flora resides in the gastrointestinal tract and its physiological and pathological char-acteristics are associated with Fu-organ diseases.There is an imbalance of intestinal flora in various elderly diseases,and treat-ment of elderly diseases by regulating the intestinal flora has proven to be effective.Given this,this paper proposes that the intes-tinal flora is the microscopic embodiment of the mechanism of"elderly seeking the spleen and stomach"and a treatment target for a variety of elderly diseases.Traditional Chinese medicine can treat senile diseases by focusing on the intestinal flora,regulating Fu-organ function,and"elderly seeking the spleen and stomach",providing new ideas for the prevention and treatment of se-nile diseases.关键词
