International Comparative Research of China's Top-notch Mathematics Talents:Based on the Data Analysis of the International Congress of Mathematicians'Presenters Since 2000

Abstract
Based on the data of International Congress of Mathematicians(ICM)speakers since 2000,this paper conducts an international comparative study of China's top-notch talents in mathematics,analyzes the curriculum vitae of Chinese ICM speakers,and explores the development patterns of top mathematicians.The study shows that the number of Chinese ICM speakers is clearly behind countries excel in mathematics such as the United States.Among them,the gap in the number of the most influential outstanding mathematical talents is even more significant;Certain impact has been made in several subject fields,but research fields such as"algebra"and"logic"are expected to accelerate breakthroughs;The number of top young and middle-aged mathematicians is insufficient;Chinese ICM speakers mainly received undergraduate study in domestic,and half of Chinese ICM speakers are trained abroad at the doctoral level,yet most of the scientific research curriculum vitae of Chinese ICM speakers involve overseas academic experience;Chinese ICM speakers mainly graduated from and worked mainly at high reputational domestic institutions in mathematics such as Peking University,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Fudan University and Zhejiang University.This paper suggests that strengthen talent nurturing and recruiting to increase the number of top mathematics talents,continuously optimize the structure of mathematical talents in China and enhance the overall academic strength of the mathematics discipline.关键词
