Abstract
Objective:To translate the Aging Anxiety Scale for Middle-Aged Women(AAS-MAW)to Chinese and to test its reliability and validity.Methods:The Chinese version of the AAS-MAW was translated,retranslated,culturally adapted,and pre-surveyed according to the Brislin Translation Model,and 429 middle-aged women from five communities in Jinzhou city were selected as respondents using convenience sampling to test the reliability and validity of the scale.Results:The Chinese version of AAS-MAW had a total of 19 entries,with a scale-level content validity index(S-CVI)of 0.96,and entry-level content validity indices(I-CVI)of 0.83-1.00.The exploratory factor analysis extracted a total of 4 male factors,with a cumulative ANOVA contribution rate of 71.622%.Validated factor analysis showed that the 4-factor model fit well.The Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the scale was 0.921,and the Cronbach's alpha coefficients of the dimensions were 0.866-0.917.The re-test reliability of the scale was 0.863,and the folded half reliability was 0.817.Conclusion:The Chinese version of AAS-MAW in Chinese has good validity and reliability,making it as a useful instrument for evaluating middle-aged Chinese women's anxiety related to aging.关键词
