Spatiotemporal Differentiation and Driving Factors of Provincial Artificial Intelligence Penetration in China
摘要
Abstract
The use and proliferation of artificial intelligence(AI)is an important engine for realizing Chinese-style modern-ization.Based on the industrial robot data of the International Federation of Robots from 2010 to 2019,this paper uses the Batik variable method to estimate the provincial AI penetration in China.On this basis,the evolution law is revealed from the two dimen-sions of time and space,and the geographic detector model is further used to identify the driving factors affecting the spatial differ-entiation of AI penetration.The findings go as follows:(1)During the study period,China's AI penetration increases steadily,and the industry heterogeneity is obvious.Manufacturing industry always takes the lead,with the transportation equipment manufactur-ing industry enjoys the highest level of AI penetration.(2)The overall spatial pattern of China's AI penetration shows a decreasing trend from east to west,and the high-value area is relatively stable and concentrated in the eastern coastal region and the middle reaches of the Yangtze River.Meanwhile,the provinces have different industry preferences in the use of AI.(3)Market mechanism is always the most important factor affecting the spatial differentiation of AI penetration,followed by foreign investment,human capital and size of labor force.The potential influence of achievement output on the spatial differentiation of AI penetration tends to be enhanced.关键词
