Abstract

Stomach space occupying hydrogel as a popular weight control device shows great application potential.In this study,konjac glucomannan was introduced into sodium carboxymethyl cellulose hydrogel.A series of konjac cellulose composite hydrogels were prepared by constructing cross-linked network.The effect of konjac glucomannan addition on the hydrogel structure and properties was investigated by infrared,swelling tests and morphology analysis.The results showed that a small amount of konjac glucomannan in carboxymethyl cellulose hydrogel could induce microphase separation and improve the water absorption performance of the hydrogel.When the addition of konjac glucomannan reached 20%,the water absorption ratio of the composite hydrogel reached the highest(196 times),showing potential as a weight reduction material.
