Improvement of the Law Enforcement Jurisdiction by the Maritime Administration over Ship Pollution in the Exclusive Economic Zone of China
摘要
Abstract
Based on the interpretation of the jurisdiction of the coastal state with regard to the protection and preservation of the marine environment in the exclusive economic zone as provided by international conventions or treaties including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea,this paper indicates that such provisions are not comprehensive with many restrictions on the coastal state.In view of the current conditions of the law enforcement jurisdiction over ship pollution by the maritime administration of China in its exclusive economic zones,the paper studies the existing problems and suggests that emphasis be put on the jurisdictional scope,law enforcement procedure,law enforcement forces and intemational cooperation,aiming to improve the law enforcement jurisdiction of the maritime administration of China over ship pollution within its exclusive economic zones.关键词
