From Technology Empowerment to Common Prosperity:An Oral History Study on the Functional Transformation of Township Adult Cultural and Technical Schools from the Perspective of Collective Memory

Abstract
The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China establishes"realizing common prosperity for all people"as an essential requirement of Chinese-style modernization.Educational equity,serving as the core engine for narrowing the urban-rural gap and activating rural endogenous dynamism,urgently requires the functional reshaping of township adult cultural and technical schools to achieve breakthroughs in its"last mile".Since the reform and opening-up policy,rural adult education has achieved remarkable results in enhancing labor force quality and promoting new rural construction.However,facing new challenges such as agricultural modernization transformation and digital technology innovation,township adult cultural and technical schools generally suffer from issues including lagging functional orientation,inefficient resource integration,and monotonous service models,making it difficult to meet the urgent demand for high-quality education services in rural revitalization and common prosperity.Based on the oral history method and using the DS Adult Cultural and Technical School in Wuxi City,Jiangsu Province as a case study,this paper amplifies grassroots voices from the perspectives of collective memory theory and historical institutionalism.It presents the functional evolution and practical paths of township adult cultural and technical schools in specific historical periods in China and explores their future development directions.To effectively promote the reform and development of rural adult school education in the context of common prosperity,it is necessary to guide by macro policies,adapt to economic development,shape characteristics based on resource endowments,and facilitate change through process reengineering.关键词
