Coupling and Coordination Measurement of General and Vocational Education Structure and Regional Economic Development

Abstract
The coordinated development of general and vocational education is an important issue in promoting the modernization of Chinese-style education and has great significance for optimizing the talent training structure.By constructing a coupling and coordination degree model between the structure of general and vocational education and high-quality economic development(S-E),this paper quantitatively analyzes the development and changes of the coupling and coordination degree of each province from 2010 to 2020,as well as the synchronized development state of the two systems.Furthermore,the convergence of the coupling and coordination degree between the two systems is tested through club convergence.The results show that during the period studied,the coupling and coordination degree between the structure of general and vocational education and high-quality economic development in China has shown a rising trend,with an overall medium coordination level,but with significant time-stage and regional heterogeneity characteristics.In 2020,more than 74%of the provinces had a relatively advanced structure of general and vocational education.Meanwhile,the results indicate that the S-E coupling and coordination degree exhibits characteristics of local club convergence.Therefore,during the 14th Five-Year Plan period,we should continually optimize the structure of general and vocational education in order to enhance its coupling and coordination degree with high-quality economic development.关键词
