Mechanisms of yellow mud water formation and prevention strategies in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

Abstract
The formation and evolution of yellow mud water in urban areas is a critical component of scientific water management,as it is part of the mountain-river-forest-farmland-lake-grassland-sand system.A thorough understanding of the characteristics,formation mechanisms,and overall situation of urban yellow mud water is essential for formulating effective prevention and control strategies.Focusing on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area,this study analyzes the relationship between yellow mud water and soil erosion based on the current regional conditions.Using the principles of the soil erosion equation,combined with field investigations and data analysis,the study explores the conditions,pathways,and mechanisms of yellow mud water formation,identifying the"collection-discharge-blockage-flow"process and its associated hazards.Comprehensive prevention strategies are proposed.The findings indicate that the formation and evolution of yellow mud water will remain persistent and complex,exerting a cascading influence on water quantity,quality,and ecology.Effective prevention requires a multi-dimensional and multi-level approach,including source management,land-use planning,drainage system optimization,and integrated monitoring,early warning,and maintenance.Studying the characteristics,mechanisms,trends,and countermeasures of yellow mud water from multiple perspectives will contribute to promoting sustainable urban development,improving environmental quality,and safeguarding ecological security.关键词
