Abstract

To address the high cost associated with obtaining tree parameters during living vegetation volume(LVV)calculations,an estimation method is proposed which integrates high-resolution remote sensing data with street view imagery to calculate the living vegetation volume of urban street trees.Using the main districts of Fuzhou as an example,we first obtain the 2D distribution of urban street trees based on GF-2 remote sensing imagery.Then,by integrating street view maps,we measure tree parameters.Finally,we estimate the LVV by combining the horizontal distribution and vertical charac-teristics of the street trees.The results show that the distribution of street trees in the study area is uneven.The tree parameters obtained from street view measurements have high accuracy,with R2 values greater than 0.9 compared to field measurements.The LVV per unit area is higher along Baimalu Road and lower along roads like Fumalu Road.Banyan trees contribute the most to the LVV in the study area,accounting for 80%of the total vegetation volume.Compared to 2D indices,the LVV of street trees better captures the 3D structural differences of urban street trees and reflects the actual ecological benefits of green spaces.
