Design of pumpjet propulsor rotor based on data-driven optimization

Abstract
Considering that the design of pumpjet propulsor rotor is extensively reliant on design experience which induces protracted design cycles,a data-driven optimization design method was proposed for the pumpjet propulsor rotor.The circulation distribution was parameterized as the design variables,and a high-precision numerical flow field served as the data-driven foundation,and an optimal rotor was identified using a single-objective intelligent optimization algorithm based on an online Kriging surrogate model.For each circulation distribution,drawing upon axial pump lift design theory,the parameters for each design segment were determined via the multi-objective optimization algorithm NSGA-III and the performance of cascade predicted by the pre-trained Kriging surrogate model.The hydrodynamic performance of each design iteration was evaluated through computational fluid dynamics(CFD)methods to drive the optimization algorithm.Results show that the proposed design method can complete the design of pumpjet propulsor rotor within a limited number of simulations,with the highest open water efficiency of 60.86%and the self-propulsion efficiency of 75.16%under the design conditions.The method is efficient and the results are reliable.The performance of pumpjet propulsor can be modulated by parameterizing the circulation distribution,and the relationship between the performance and parameters has multi-peak characteristics.It's an effective method to use optimization algorithm in the design of pumpjet propulsors.关键词
