Abstract

To address shortcomings related to the detailing of the existing self-centering reinforced concrete(SCRC)beam-column joints with steel angles as energy dissipators,a novel joint detailing was proposed.Fiber-reinforced shrinkage-compensated cementitious(FSC)grout was used for the beam-column connection,and the longitudinal reinforcement at the beam ends was reliably anchored.Low-cycle loading tests were conducted on eight full-scale SCRC beam-column joints and one cast-in-place beam-column joint.The various parameters,including steel angle sizes,anchorage methods of longitudinal reinforcement at beam ends,and repair measures,were investigated to assess their impact on the seismic performance of SCRC beam-column joints.Additionally,a comparison was made to evaluate the differences in seismic performance between SCRC joints and cast-in-place beam-column joints with the same dimension and longitudinal reinforcement ratio.The experimental results indicate that compared to the traditional cast-in-place joint,the SCRC beam-column joints show better reparability.The use of steel angles significantly enhances the bearing capacity,stiffness,and energy dissipation capacity of the SCRC beam-column joints.As the size of the steel angle increases,a slight improvement in bearing capacity,stiffness,and energy dissipation is also observed.Under small loading drift,the displacement at the loading end is mainly caused by the bending deformation of the beam and column.Once the joint opens,the lateral displacement resulting from the rotation of the beam end relative to the column becomes dominant.The experimental results validate the reliability of the proposed joint detailing.
