Abstract

Underground coal gasification(UCG)is an important technological pathway to achieve the emission peak and carbon neutrality goals,and establishing a scientific site selection method is the pri-mary task in its industrialization process.To this end,a theoretical model for UCG site selection deci-sion-making was constructed with the following steps:1)The potential risks associated with improper UCG site selection was systematically analyzed.Subsequently,23 key factors were selected as evaluation indicators from five dimensions,i.e.,coal quality characteristics,geological structure,hydrogeological conditions,coal seam occurrence,and roof lithology.These key factors formed an evaluation index sys-tem for UCG site selection decisions,serving as the evaluation indicator set.2)The evaluation grades were classified as suitable,basically suitable,and unsuitable,and the grading thresholds for each indica-tor were determined.3)The membership degrees of various indicators were calculated under the guidance of the fuzzy mathematics theory,and a fuzzy judgment matrix was formulated.4)The subjec-tive,objective,and combined weights of the indicators were determined using the improved analytic hi-erarchy process,the entropy weight method,and the game theory,respectively.5)The evaluation re-sults were calculated using the combined weights of the indicators and the fuzzy judgment matrix.Based on the above process,a UCG site selection decision-making system was developed with the aid of Py-thon.This system can directly evaluate the suitability of resource conditions for UCG technology based on the attribute values of evaluation indicators in pre-selected areas and output the results in both text and graphical forms.It was then applied to evaluate the suitability of resource conditions in three UCG indus-trial trial areas and seven feasibility study areas.The evaluation results are consistent with the actual op-eration outcomes,which confirms the system's advantages of strong reliability,ease of use,high com-putation speed,and intuitive results.The research findings can provide technical support for the conven-ience,digitalization,and precision of UCG site selection.
