Abstract

Cassava pomace is an ideal raw material for cultivation substrate.To optimize the design of operating machinery for cassava pomace cultivation substrate,accurately obtaining the discrete element simulation parameters of cassava pomace is an essential step.Taking cassava pomace with a measured moisture content of 3.75%as the object,a study was conducted on the calibration of its discrete element simulation parameters.The initial value of the stacking angle of cassava pomace was determined through a physical experiment.The main influencing factors were screened out,and their optimal value ranges were determined using the Plackett-Burman test and hill-climbing simulation.A Box-Behnken response surface test was carried out in EDEM to construct regression equations between the main influencing factors and the response indexes,optimizing the parameters with the target value of the physical stacking angle of 37.85°.The calibrated simulation parameters were ultimately obtained.The results indicate that the static friction coefficient of cassava pomace-cassava pomace,the static friction coefficient of cassava pomace-stainless steel and the rolling friction coefficient of cassava pomace-cassava pomace significantly impact the stacking angle of cassava pomace.By comparing the stacking angle simulation results with the physical test results under the calibrated parameters,it is found that the relative error in the stacking angle between the two is 3.59%,and the stacking morphology is highly similar,which verifies the accuracy of the calibrated simulation parameters.
