Abstract
In order to improve the insufficient capacity of the Lanzhou-Xinjiang Railway and promote the construction of"the Belt and Road",the feasibility of building a new Lanzhou-Xinjiang Third and Fourth Line Freight Railway was analyzed from the aspects of the current capacity of the railway channels into and out of Xinjiang,comparison of channels,the development trend of Xinjiang coal transportation,and the planning of railway channels out of Xinjiang.A scheme for the new Lanzhou-Xinjiang Third and Fourth Line Freight Railway was proposed,which focused on the direct transportation of large quantities of goods and gave consideration to military transportation and off-gauge goods transportation.The construction of the new Lanzhou-Xinjiang Third and Fourth Line Freight Railway is of great significance in filling the gaps in the western railways,further improving the western road network structure,adjusting the transportation structure and energy development strategy of Xinjiang and even the entire western region,consolidating national defense construction,and maintaining national unity and stability.关键词
