Abstract

To address the restricts of dense urban environments on the positioning accuracy of Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS),a novel satellite positioning approach leveraging Active Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces(ARIS)is proposed.ARIS modules installed on building facades redirect the navigation signals to users in obstructed areas,creating Extended Line of Sight(ELoS)paths to overcome limitations caused by blocked traditional Line of Sight(LoS)signals.A carrier phase observation model is developed,in which the concept of pseudo-clock bias with network time synchronization technology is introduced to reduce the impact of receiver clock errors on positioning accuracy.Simulation results show that meter-level positioning accuracy can be achieved in signal-blocked areas when ARIS detects signals from more than five satellites,effectively enhancing the performance in urban canyon environments.
