Abstract
Objective To explore the efficacy and safety profiles of Xijiao Dihuang Decoction combined with tripterygium glycosides tablets in eczema.Methods Eighty eczema patients in the author's hospital from June 2020 to December 2023 were enrolled,and randomly assigned into two groups using lottery method.the control group(n=42)was given tripterygium glycosides tablets,based on this,observation group(n=38)added Xijiao Dihuang decoction.Treatment in both groups lasted for 8 weeks,then the outcome criteria including clinical efficacy and safety were compared between groups.Results The Eczema Area and Severity Index(EASI)score,itching score and the dimension score of Dermatology Life Quality Index(DLQI)at baseline yielded no statistical difference between groups(P＞0.05).After treatment,a reduction was detected in EASI score,itching score and DLQI score in both groups,and the reduction was more notable in observation group than in control group(P＜0.05).The overall efficacy rate was 94.74%in observation group,which was higher than 73.81%in control group(P＜0.05).Baseline serum levels of interleukin-2(IL-2),IL-4 and tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α)demonstrated no statistical difference between groups(P＞0.05).After treatment,there was a decrease in above three inflammation factors of both groups(P＜0.05),and the decrease was more remarkable in observation group than in control group(P＜0.05).During the course of treatment,one case each of dry mouth,nausea,and drowsiness reported in observation group,and one case each of fatigue,dizziness,and dry mouth occurred in control group,while no serious adverse reactions occurred in either group.No statistical difference was found in total adverse reaction rate between groups(χ2=0.016,P=0.899).Conclusion Application of Xijiao Dihuang Decoction combined with tripterygium glycosides tablets in eczema can efficacy alleviate symptoms,improve quality of life,attenuate inflammation response,and has good safety profiles,which is worthy of promotion.关键词
