摘要

Abstract

Post-weaning piglets have underdeveloped intestinal immune defense systems and imperfect intestinal functions.Hence,they are prone to various inflammatory intestinal diseases,which lead to diarrhea and death in piglets and seriously affect their growth performance.In the livestock industry,prophylactic antibiotic feed additives were widely used to prevent piglet diarrhea,resulting in an increase in pathogen resistance and environmental pollution.Fermented Chinese herbal medicine feed additives have been widely used in the livestock industry due to their advantages such as being eco-friendly,safe,and environmentally sustainable properties.They can not only effectively promote the healthy growth of animals and improve farming efficiency but also avoid problems such as drug resistance and drug residues caused by the use of traditional antibiotics.Therefore,they have become an ideal alternative to antibiotic feed additives.This review summarizes the research progress on the effects of fermented Chinese herbal medicine feed additives on the growth performance and intestinal functions of post-weaning piglets,aiming to provide references for the research on intestinal protection and the substitution of growth-promoting antibiotic additives for post-weaning piglets.
