Breeding and Application of New Hybrid Rice Combination Jingliangyou 3261 with Good Grain Quality and Salt Tolerance

Abstract
Developing saline-alkali tolerant rice is one of the most economical way to exploit and utilize saline-alkaline land.In this study,a photo-thermo sensitive genic male sterile line Jing 196S was developed by Hunan Hybrid Rice Research Center(HHRRC)with Shen 08S as the female parent and an excellent individual plant in the F2 population from a cross between GD-7S and Guangzhan 63S as the male parent for hybridization,followed by generations of shuttle breeding in Sanya and Changsha.At the same time,a restorer line R3261 with resistance to rice blast,good grain quality and excellent comprehensive traits was developed by HHRRC from the hybridization with Yuenongsimiao as the female parent and Xiangyaxiangzhan as the male parent through pedigree selection and molecular detection.The National Center of Technology Innovation for Saline-alkali Tolerant Rice in Sanya and HHRRC made a cross with the male sterile line Jing 196S and the restorer line R3261 and develop the new two-line hybrid rice combination Jingliangyou 3261.The hybrid combination was characterized by excellent plant type,moderate growth period,strong tillering ability,good grain quality,salt tolerance,high temperature resistance and lodging resistance.It was approved by Hunan Provincial Crop Variety Appraisal Committee and National Crop Variety Appraisal Committee in 2024,respectively.This combination is suitable for planting as mid-season rice in Hunan Province and as late rice in saline-alkali land in South China,demonstrating broad application prospects.关键词
