Abstract

Exploring the spatio-temporal characteristics and decoupling effects of agricultural carbon emissions in karst mountainous areas is of great significance for guiding agricultural carbon reduction and achieving low-carbon agriculture in this region.Taking Bijie City in the karst mountainous area of northwest Guizhou as an example,this paper selects 16 carbon sources from three aspects,namely material inputs,crop cultivation and livestock and poultry breeding,to construct an agricultural carbon emission accounting system.Moreover,it uses the carbon emission factor method and the Tapio decoupling model to explore the temporal characteristics,spatial differentiation of agricultural carbon emissions in Bijie City from 2013 to 2022 and its decoupling relationship with economic growth.The results show that from 2013 to 2022,the agricultural carbon emissions in Bijie City generally presented an evolutionary trend of first increasing and then decreasing,among the three major types of carbon sources,the order of emissions from high to low is livestock and poultry breeding,material inputs and crop cultivation,the intensity of agricultural carbon emissions has shown a downward trend year by year.The spatial differentiation characteristics of agricultural carbon emissions in various counties and districts of Bijie City are obvious,and the overall spatial distribution pattern is"higher in the west and lower in the east".The intensity of agricultural carbon emissions in all counties and districts has shown a downward trend.Overall,the decoupling relationship between agricultural carbon emissions and agricultural eco-nomic growth in Bijie City is showing a positive trend,the decoupling types as a whole are shifting from weak decoupling to strong decoupling.Howev-er,there are significant differences in the decoupling trends between the two aspects among various counties and districts in the city.The research sug-gests that in the future,Bijie City should take measures such as reducing carbon emissions from livestock and poultry breeding,promoting the reduction of the amount of agricultural materials used while improving their efficiency,and strengthening regional cooperation in carbon reduction,so as to a-chieve agricultural emission reduction and low-carbon transformation.
